At last - Welcome Back to The Concorde!

Our marquee and garden reopens this Saturday and Sunday 4/5 July from 11am to 11pm and we wanted to share with you how we plan to operate in line with the new (41 page!!) Government Covid 19 Guidelines.  The Guidelines are very loose to say the least and each venue will do things differently so we have summarised below how we see it working for us.  Unfortunately there will be new ‘rules’ which we will all have to adhere to, for your protection and for ours. 

Bookings

As we will be providing table service only we request that you book your table on-line in advance.  There is a choice of booking times and we will need to know the number of people in your party (groups of no more than 6) so that we can reserve your table.  Should you turn up on the off chance without a booking we will be happy to seat you but only if we have available tables.  On arrival please park in the top car park (not Hotel car park) as we will be operating a one-way in and out system. Everyone visiting us must provide contact details to comply with track and trace (no exceptions); these will be kept securely and destroyed after 21 days.

Entrance

We will be operating a one-way system and will have signs directing you to the garden via the footbridge to the Hotel.  As you enter the garden our staff will welcome you at the Reception Desk and you will be given a table number. Tables will be spaced at 2m for your safety; please do not try and move tables and chairs to a different area.  Unfortunately there will be no standing at the bar, dogs to be kept on leads at all times and children to be seated and supervised.

There will be a hand sanitiser at the entry point and at other locations in the garden and marquee and when a table is vacated we will need time to clean and sanitise the area.

Staff will take your food and drinks order at your table (using disposable paper menus) and we would prefer payment to be made by card as much as possible.   

Toilets

We will operate a one in, one out system for the Ladies and Gents toilet and there will be signs for the entrance and exit.  Please respect other people’s space in the toilet and wait your turn – the floor will be marked at 2m intervals should you need to queue.  We will provide hand sanitisers and the toilets will be cleaned on a regular basis.

Exit

There will be signs directing the way out via a one-way system behind the hotel and over the tarmac road bridge. 

The Moldy Fig

We plan to reopen the Fig the following weekend Friday 10/Saturday 11 /Sunday 12 July and are taking table bookings now, including those for our traditional Sunday lunch.

The Concorde

For the foreseeable future we are unable to present live music, quiz nights and many of our other events and as soon as the situation changes you will be the first to know.

We are all very much looking forward to seeing you Saturday 4 or Sunday 5 and sharing our new experience. However this new way of operating will be as new to us as it will be to you and it’s not how we saw ourselves welcoming you back.   There may be occasions when you won’t agree with us so please don’t be offended if we ask you not to move tables, add chairs to tables, keep your voices down or to step away from the bar.  We are only doing this to keep us all safe and to operate within the guidelines set out.  If you think there is anything we have overlooked please let us know – we want to make sure your first visit is an enjoyable experience!
