International blues guitarist Big Dez makes his debut at The Concorde on the back of being a regular headliner at blues and jazz clubs in Paris, Japan, Texas and Chicago including Buddy Guy's Legends Club where Buddy Guy has joined Big Dez on stage. Big Dez and his band also continue to be a big draw at the biggest European Blues Festivals.
Mixing Chicago blues and funky blues into the Big Dez style, you get a top class evening of rocking, foot tappin' music that makes you want to dance. This is the real deal blues party that you won't want to miss.
For the band's appearance in the Moldy Fig, the line up will be Big Dez guitar and vocals, Yann Cole guitar and vocals, Christophe Gaillot drums and UK bassist Derek White or has previously played with Bernie Marsden, John Verity, Larry Miller, Hitman Blues Band amongst many others.
Big Dez (Phil Fernandez) plays guitar with the chilling intensity of Albert Collins and writes great foot tappin’ blues and rock'n'roll grooves.
Big Dez has played in the US with the likes of blues legends Luther Allison, WC Clark, Billy Branch, Chicago guitarist Alan Haynes and harmonica player Paul Orta and many more. He has also played alongside Texas legend Uncle John Turner (drummer with Johnny Winter & Lightnin’ Hopkins), Lucky Peterson and recorded with the Fabulous Thunderbirds bassist Preston Hubbard.
