Legend has it, in a shack in the Paris region, where they rehearsed a repertoire of English and American Blues, is where Phil Fernandez united his guitars with Lamine Guerfi's bass. From this union, the group BIG DEZ was born in 1996.

The family grew quickly with the arrival of Marc Schaeller on harmonica. After having scoured the bars of the Paris region for a few years, the call of the sea sent them to the United States where they befriended artists from Chicago, Austin, and Saint Louis. The muses grabbing a hold of Phil Fernandez, and the band composed their first album, "Sail On Blues" recorded in Austin, Texas in 2003.

The album "Night after Night", would soon follow while still in Austin, in 2004 and "You can Smile" in Jamestown MO in 2007. In February 2009, Big Dez was selected by Blues sur Seine to represent France at the INTERNATIONAL BLUES CHALLENGE in Memphis Tennessee.

That same year, “Late Live” appeared in an anthology of various European concerts, before Angevin sweetness inspired Big Dez for the next two albums: “Lazy Star” in 2010 and “Wet Paint” in 2012.

More than twenty years after its creation, Big Dez is now composed of Phil Fernandez on guitar and vocals, Lamine Guerfi on bass, Paco "Lefty hand" on guitar, Guillaume Destarac on drums, Léa Worms on keyboards and Marc Schaeller on the harmonica.

The gang continues to attend European and American festivals with as much energy as ever. The Big Dez style is electric blues mixed with humor and melancholy, strongly tinged with funk, soul, and rock'n roll.

Let us welcome the birth of Big Dez's 10th album, “Chicken in the car and the car can't go ”. The album was recorded at home by Paco "Lefty hand" and mixed in Chicago. 10 tracks with strong Blues / Rock character, composed by singer and guitarist, Phil Fernandez. We find, of course, the three main protagonists of the group whose formation has evolved somewhat over time.
