James Allsopp is an award-winning saxophonist, composer and teacher of the Alexander Technique.
The James Allsopp Quartet plays Stan Getz is a new project inspired by the music he grew up listening to; a salute to one of his all-time saxophone heroes - Stan Getz.
There is so much fantastic repertoire associated with Stan Getz from lush ballads and bossa novas to swinging standards and bebop compositions.
He has chosen a varied program reflecting this range of material and has interpreted the music respectfully but not reverentially, allowing it to breathe and feel natural for our time.
The band features Colin Oxley on guitar, Oli Hayhurst on double bass and Dave Storey on drums.
