A Night of Blues ‘n’ Boogie – 3 great acts

The Concorde Club is thrilled to host the third instalment of a wonderfully varied and entertaining night of blues!  This time the artists will feature the Internationally renowned Paddy Milner solo piano, followed by rising stars acoustic American roots and blues duo Adam Sweet and Paddy Blight; and as always, the ever-popular contemporary electric blues of Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion featuring Hammond organist Pete Whittaker.  Be entertained… be sure to book early.

Paddy Milner – Solo Boogie & Blues piano

“Impressive & original” The Times, UK

Paddy Milner is recognised as one of the leading Blues, Boogie-Woogie and New Orleans pianists of his generation but is also a very versatile musician at home in many musical situations.  He has toured the world with Sir Tom Jones for the past decade, is a stalwart of the London recording scene and has been featured on the soundtracks of films including the Elton John biopic 'Rocketman' and the forthcoming award-winning 'Session Man' about unsung maestro Nicky Hopkins. His set will include exciting Boogie, heart-felt Blues and some down-and-dirty N'Awlins grooves, all peppered with his own pianistic flavour and perhaps the odd curve-ball thrown in.

“Dazzling” The Independent, UK

Adam Sweet and Paddy Blight - Acoustic Blues, Folk, and Americana DUO

“He is simply among the most original and visionary young musicians currently on the cusp of widespread discovery.”

Adam’s acclaimed solo performances with just his acoustic guitar and stomp box for company have seen him play every kind of venue, from the most intimate house concerts and bar rooms to theatres and festivals across the UK and Europe. In this format, he has supported dozens of bands and artists from Blues, Folk and Americana genres including Dr Feelgood, Laurence Jones, Beth Rowley, Martin Taylor, Chantel McGregor, Elles Bailey and Wille & the Bandits.  On this occasion, he is joined by band-mate bass-guitarist Paddy Blight this time on double bass.

"The sound of someone who could end up being very special indeed." - The Rocker

Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion – 4-piece Hammord-organ-driven contemporary electric blues

ZSBC refresh the blues genre with eclectic arrangements, virtuosic playing, and vocal prowess.  With an exciting live set based around rootsy original songs, strong catchy riffs, and exciting grooves, they mix old-school tradition with contemporary flair and sophistication.

Zoe and Rob Koral are a “nationally regarded couple, it tells in the power and professionalism of their performance…”.   Zoe’s dynamic and commanding vocal delivery is complimented by the unmistakable touch and flow of Rob-guitar, and the highly accomplished rhythm section of Pete Whittaker - Hammond organ and Eddie John - drums.

There is diversity, depth, and uniqueness to the band's music, where each of the band members is given the freedom to express their musical prowess and stamp their magic to the songwriting of Zoë and Rob.  A testament to their chemistry is the sheer volume of music written, recorded, and released, with ‘Chameleon’ (April 2020) being their 7th album in 8 years; and over 10 years of intense gigging.

“A great band. Terrific musicians all four of them” - Paul Jones, BBC Radio 2

“This is a band of exceptional quality, fronted by the stellar vocals of Zoe Schwarz; you really shouldn't miss the opportunity to enjoy them” - Live Review, Brian Harrington, Arlington Arts, Newbury Times

“Innovative spark, virtuoso playing and a dare-devil attitude” – Pete Feenstra, Get Ready to Rock Magazine
