NAT STEELE co leads a brand new sextet with tenor saxophonist Mark Crooks (featured soloist with Tony Bennett, as a soloist at Jazz at the Lincoln Centre, with the John Wilson Orchestra, and Dame Cleo Laine to name a few) and myself on vibraphone performing music from, and inspired by, the classic 1958 Fantasy album "Stan Getz / Cal Tjader Sextet", which is also noted as the recording debut of Scott LeFaro and Billy Higgins.
It's with an all-star band featuring rising young Hungarian star Mátyás Gayer on piano, Colin Oxley (Stacey Kent, Julian Bliss) on guitar, Mark Taylor (Monty Alexander, George Coleman, Ray Brown) on drums and Jeremy Brown (Peter King, Brad Mehldau) on bass.
