A Night of Blues & Boogie – 3 great acts: -

A wonderfully varied and exciting night of blues! Three great acts covering rhythmic swing ‘n’ blues solo piano, Acoustic Delta Blues & Bluegrass, and Contemporary Electric Hammond driven Blues.

Neal Richardson – Solo piano & vocals, “Sings like heaven, swings like hell”!

Neal Richardson is a powerful and rhythmic pianist/vocalist playing jazz, blues and originals, together with his quick wit and audience rapport his sets are hugely entertaining.

“It was a gas and every one of the punters lapped it up.” Jazz Journal

Neal cut his teeth performing in jazz clubs, hotels, and on cruise ships in over 50 countries, from Rio to Raffles, Norway to New Orleans, Vietnam to Venezuela.  His wide-ranging tastes and influences include a great swinging style influenced by Oscar Peterson, Ray Charles, Nat King Cole and Gene Harris.  He has an extensive tour coming up following the release of his new album ’The Maximalist’, with rave reviews and sold out shows at venues such as Ronnie Scott’s and the London Jazz Festival already under his belt.

“Neal Richardson has a great understanding of how to reel in the audience…

one could sense them getting more involved and on his side”  London Jazz News

Stompin Dave and Lucy Piper – Acoustic Multi-Instrumentalist & Drums Duo

Stompin' Dave “a master of all kinds of American roots” The Telegraph, teams up with “Lucy Piper, one of the UK's leading blues drummers” The Guardian.  Forming a duo described as “Wonderful, Stompin' Dave the embodiment of authenticity, and Lucy BLUES drummer!” Blues In the South

Bridport, Dorset based Stompin' Dave has worked exclusively as a musician with over 30 albums, and over 250 festival appearances including Glastonbury and Bestival.

Over the last few years Lucy Piper has spent many a night performing in Mississippi, USA 'juke joints' alongside top musicians including the multi Blues Music Award nominee Watermelon Slim, and Robert Kimbrough Senior, son of one of the all-time greats of hill country blues, Junior Kimbrough. She has also toured with Ruf Record’s Blues Caravan show.

Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion refresh the blues genre with eclectic arrangements, virtuosic playing, and vocal prowess.  With an exciting live set based around rootsy original songs, strong catchy riffs, and exciting grooves, they mix old school tradition with contemporary flair and sophistication.

Zoe and Rob Koral are a “nationally regarded couple, it tells in the power and professionalism of their performance…”.   Zoe’s dynamic and commanding vocal delivery is complimented by the unmistakable touch and flow of Rob-guitar, and the highly accomplished rhythm section of Pete Whittaker-Hammond organ and Eddie John-drums.

There is diversity, depth, and a uniqueness to the band's music, where each of the band members are given the freedom to express their musical prowess and stamp their own personal magic to the song writing of Zoë and Rob.  A testament to their chemistry is the sheer volume of music written, recorded, and released, with ‘Chameleon’ (April 2020) being their 7th album in 8 years; and over 10 years of intense gigging, with concerts and festivals the length and breadth of the country and abroad, complimented with numerous rave reviews and accolades.

“A great band. Terrific musicians all four of them” - Paul Jones, BBC Radio 2

“This is a band of exceptional quality, fronted by the stellar vocals of Zoe Schwarz; you really shouldn't miss the opportunity to enjoy them” - Live Review, Brian Harrington, Artlington Arts, Newbury Times,

“Innovative spark, virtuoso playing and a dare-devil attitude” – Pete Feenstra, Get Ready to Rock Magazine
