Benny Goodman's 1938 Carnegie Hall Concert

"Pete Long and his musicians have gone to great lengths to re-create this concert, including original arrangements, period instruments and even the stage seating plan.   The result is an evening of fabulous music that swings like crazy!”

Jon Hancock : Author, ‘Benny Goodman – The Famous 1938 Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert’.

1938 Carnegie Hall; the world's greatest jazz concert; the first million selling jazz album.  Pete Long presents a wonderful recreation of one of the most exciting concerts in jazz history. Benny’s line up that night included stars such as trumpeters Harry James and Ziggy Elman, drummer Gene Krupa and pianist Jess Stacey.  It was the first time black and white jazz musicians appeared on stage together in the USA as it also featured Lionel Hampton on vibes, Teddy Wilson on piano and guest stars from the Duke Ellington and Count Basie Orchestras.  A unique moment in jazz history.
